Math Question On Miles Per Hour?

If a ball is thrown by one person standing 60ft from another and takes .186 seconds to reach the other person. How fast was the ball thrown? Please explain if you can.

It's not 186. It is POINT ONE EIGHT SIX: .186

    v = 60 ft/0.186 sec = 322.58 ft/sec

    To change to mph, do this:

    (322.58 ft/sec) (3600 sec/1 hr) (1 mile/5280 ft) = 219.9 mph or just 220 mph
