Seven year old dog who suddenly began relieving himself in the house.?

I have a seven year old petite basset that my son had to get rid of two years ago. He has always been good about holding his bladder and bowel movements. I have had him for two years with no problems. When my son had him he was at times left in the house for extended periods of time with no mistakes. Recently he has begun pooping on the floor in the family room and urinating occasionally. He has been to the vet regularly and is in good health and is full of energy. He is home with our other dog,a miniture schnauzer from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. I know it isn't the schnauzer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to correct this problem?

You may want to get him checked, just in case he's developed a weak bladder or bowels recently. He could also be marking his territory, this is natural with dogs.

I would have the vet check him out. At 7 years old, he is technically a senior dog and this could be a sign of diabetes, bladder cancer, or many other illnesses.

There could desire to be many distinctive motives... Urinary tract an infection, onset of early systemic illnesses, or maybe in simple terms territorial if there's a sparkling guy or woman or animal interior the abode. the two way, i could certainly see a vet if it keeps, or in case you notice he's ingesting extra water than accepted in conjunction to extra desirable urination.
