Help me with my computer?

So I am clueless when it comes to computers, and a while ago my friend texted me to email something to him and do I turned on my computer and went to my email.. My computer was going really slow so I decided to restart it.. I let it turn back on and came back to the screen saying " reboot an select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" what does that mean? What can I do to make it work again, I really need my computer today.

Please and thank you!

Btw I guess it's a windows xp

When you get that message it means that your computer can not see or find your C drive or main drive that your Operating System is loaded on.

Switch your computer off, and unplug then replug all your drives.

It could be just a faulty / loose connection, but generally that means that your hard drive is faulty or broken.

I hope that it is just a loose connection.

    Good luck
