trouble with my work truck?
my company owned work truck is a 2008 chevy 3500 with 6.0 liter engine...lately has been running very rough with reduced power and check engine light on....so far the company mechanics have replaced the throttle body,,oxy senser, and an ign coil for 1 cylinder...ran ok for a couple days, then same problem returned...they said it has to go back to the dealer to have the computer "reprogrammed"...our mechanics cant do that themselves because they dont have the necessary equipment for 2008 and newer vehicles.....any ideas out there?...90,000 miles....just curious,,not really my problem,,one nice thing about working for a company i guess....
additionally***--to clarify...the mechanic working on my truck was employed at a chevy / gm dealer before coming to our company....he seems knowledgable....the older mechanic that told me about not having the right equipment for 2008 and newer vans said the equipment is available but is expensive and hasnt been approved by the beancounters yet...sounds legit to me but i dont know about these things which is why i'm asking on line...i wouldnt throw my guys under the bus just yet..

I love hearing "we dont have the right equipment" it means they dont have any idea what thier doing... thiers a reason the techs at a dealership make better money then shop "techs"... no idea about the truck id habe to look at it.

perform a little snooping around and see if diesel gas on your section is mixed for wintry climate utilising. if so you will have not any worry in case you have indoor parking with a block heater as back-up once you're caught outdoors. that's no longer had to run a block heater all night while it quite gets chilly. an elementary electric timer to the block heater 40 5 minutes to an hour before you intend to apply the truck is sufficient. Dodges have great autos however the the remainder of the truck is poor interior the transmission branch. Ford's have the least ability and don't start up properly in chilly climate. Ford's replace areas are extra high priced while the guaranty era is complete. GMC and Chevrolet horsepower and torque bypass up back in 2010. they start extra beneficial than the different 2 in chilly climate and characteristic extra beneficial transmissions. in case you do no longer do a lot of utilising or tow heavy a lot gas is a thank you to bypass. GM (GMC & Clevrolet) has a bigger guarantee and gas economic gadget than Toyota Ford or avert.

Well I hate to say this, but they're probably just tired of looking for the problem. Sounds to me like they have been relying on the computer to tell them the problem, almost like playing find the sensor. I'm not throwing them under the bus, just sayin that if I couldn't figure out the problem without tearing through **** with a multimeter or a better computer to tell me the exact source of the problem, I'd send it to someone else. But to me, it sounds like its running rich and pluggin **** up.
