My leopard gecko cant shut it's eye?

There's some loose skin on it's eye lid that hasn't shed. I dabbed it with a wet cotton swab, and some of it came off. Most is still there though, and he can't shut his eye. What do I do? And is this a bad thing? How long until he sheds and will he get some sort of eye infection from sleeping with an eye open?

He certainly will not be comfortable trying to sleep with his eye open ! Would you ?

    Get some sphagnum moss -

and a Tupperware - type container 1½ times the length of the gecko.

Cut a round hole in a short side and melt the edges so the hole is not sharp.

Make sure the moss is wet and ½-fill the container with the moss. Put the gecko in the tub, close the lid and place it at the cool end of the vivarium.

Check every day that the moss is still damp and make sure that there are rough surfaces (rocks, bark, twigs etc.) for your gecko to naturally scrape his looses skin off on.

Re-use the Moss Box every time he is about to shed...
