Installing PEX in shower?

There is a lot of info on PEX out there, but for some reason not on shower installs. My bathroom has hot and cold fixtures, the middle fixture which switches between shower and bath, a spout, and the shower head fixture. How do I convert this from galvanized to PEX?

Do I need to buy a new PEX specific valve?

Do I need drop ear elbows? if so, what connects the handle to the drop ear?

How do I connect all the fixtures?

You may need to buy a new shower valve and you will need to buy shark bight adapters that will screw into regular plumbing fixtures. PEX in a shower is not the best option, but might be the cheapest. Copper would be much better. Every time you turn on or shut off a valve, the tubing will move with PEX. Movement can cause leaks and the shower stand is about one of the worst places to get a leak.
