What format does video have to be in on a USB drive to play on a Panasonic Viera?
I have a Panasonic Viera that I am trying to watch a video on. It recognizes that the drive is in, and that the video is on it, but says "cannot read file". It is currently in .mkv format, do I have to convert it? If not, what's going on?

Most TV's will not handle .mkv files. This file type is a container. The video and audio inside can be in a bunch of different formats. The TV will have to un-pack the .mkv file before it can examine the video files to see if it understands the format. Televisions do not usually have hard-drive space to do this.
