Can somebody explain to me how EV training works in Pokemon Black 2/White 2?
I'm very confused on the matter. I want to EV train my Braviary for speed and attack, but how would I go about doing this? I know that I'm supposed to battle a bunch of Basculin, but it takes about 6 battles just to get the overall speed to raise once. Is it really supposed to take this long? And what's the difference between EV training and just, say, drinking a bunch of Proteins and whatnot? Please simplify your answer as much as possible, almost as if you were teaching a child this.

Well, I'll TRY to simplify this... but you'll still need to do some reading.
The actual stat increase for EV training is 4 points for one increase. In order to make the training more efficient, there are a few ways around this. You can train with Pokemon that yield more EV's, you can use a Macho Brace (at the cost of a x.5 multiplier on your speed when you hold it, though this effect isn't permanent. It's like you get attacked by String Shot before the battle). There are also Power items that exist in the games that act similar to the Macho Brace, but increase the EV count by 4 per battle instead of just doubling the EV's received. Pokerus will also double the EV gain, but once you receive it, you must train as much as possible before the Pokemon develops an immunity to it.
Vitamins, on the other hand, such as Protein and Carbos, will increase by 10 points each, but they will not increase a stat over 100 EV points, or above the total amount that is allowed 510.

in elementary terms problem approximately EV coaching in case you will conflict competitively. With that reported... attempt fee in a nutshell: -be sure what stat you desire to improve (case in point, speed) -conflict Pokemon that has reported stat (for speed, you conflict Pidgey, Electrode, commonly quickly Pokemon) -for each 4 EV factors, you will get a million factor for that stat. -once you get a point up, all stats gained from the EV grind will flow into stat (like if to procure 40 speed EV factors from the grind, the point up could prepare getting a minimum of 10 factors in direction of speed) be conscious: you may in elementary terms have 255 EV factors of one stat, and you will in elementary terms have a finished of 510 EV factors Pokerus doubles the quantity of EV factors you get, as does Macho Brace, which stacks with Pokerus (occasion: Pidgey provides one factor to hurry EV. Pokerus can provide 2, double that with Macho Brace geared up, which would be 4.)
