Can I pair cream lace gloves with black lace dress?

We're going to do a 50's hollywood glam and I'm planning to wear a black lace dress with ruffles on the skirt on our party. I wanted to wear lace gloves but wasn't able to find a black lace one, so I bought cream lace gloves. Would it look too fashion faux pas or would it work? And is an elbow length glove better than a wrist length glove?
