10 Month Old - Weaning?
My 10 month old has slowly started weaning himself. I find myself forcing him to nurse, but he's just not having it - I can get him to nurse once a day (and as long as he keeps nursing once a day, I'll continue). That's fine...I'm ok with him weaning if that's what he wants to do.
Anyway, he's not getting enough milk during the day. He will not take a bottle and will only drink water or juice from a cup - not breast milk. Should I try formula? My first son started on formula when he was 8 months old...nursing him was a constant struggle because he started out on bottles since he was premature. Anyway, that was all so long ago that I just don't remember how this weaning stuff goes.
I'm open to any suggestions.

It is very rare for a baby to self wean at 10 months. Babies get distracted easily, it might be as simple as taking him n a quite room with no distractions in order to get him to nurse throughout the day. i had to do that with my daughter for a couple weeks around 8 months or so. After a couple weeks of going in my room to nurse her she just started nursing normally again (I think because she realized she could nurse and still see what was going on in the room and didn't want to go to a distraction free room, lol).
