  • 17 dpo, light spotting, no period, bfn?

Ovulated on/near day 18. Currently 17dpo and no period. .. my period typically starts very heavily. I had a a drop of blood when I wiped yesterday morning and light camping. Last night another small spot of blood. Nothing since. Two days past when AF was due. Still getting negative tests. Any thoughts?

  • Ever ovulated on day 7?

We're trying for our 3rd and final child. We've had two boys and never had any trouble conceiving (average has been 1.5 months of trying). Anyway, we're trying to conceive a girl - you know have sex 2-3 days before you ovulate, woman doesn't orgasm, shallow penetration, etc (we realize that not much of this is in our control - but we figured it was worth a shot). I've never used ovulation tests before until recently. I'm on day 7 of my 28 days cycle and I got a faint positive. From what I understand you don't typically ovulate until day 14. Is this a false reading or am I really ovulating this early in my cycle?

  • 5 days late - Negative Tests?

With my first two babies, I was able to test the day of, or a few days before my period was due, and I got a positive. However, I swear I've taken at least 6 or 7 tests over the last week and I keep getting negatives.

When did you get your BFP? **Fingers are crossed**

  • Maybe Pregnant with #3 - First response early detection?

Has anyone used the First Response Early Detection test (the one that is supposed to tell you 6 days before your period) and had any success with it - using it that early, that is.

I'm almost positive I'm pregnant. I had some tinged red mucus discharge, some nausea, fatigue, etc. But all the cheap tests I've used have come out negative - granted, if I am pregnant, it's very early on. Just wondering if it's worth the money to try out a more sensitive test.

    Any suggestions

  • 10 Month Old - Weaning?

My 10 month old has slowly started weaning himself. I find myself forcing him to nurse, but he's just not having it - I can get him to nurse once a day (and as long as he keeps nursing once a day, I'll continue). That's fine...I'm ok with him weaning if that's what he wants to do.

Anyway, he's not getting enough milk during the day. He will not take a bottle and will only drink water or juice from a cup - not breast milk. Should I try formula? My first son started on formula when he was 8 months old...nursing him was a constant struggle because he started out on bottles since he was premature. Anyway, that was all so long ago that I just don't remember how this weaning stuff goes.

    I'm open to any suggestions.

  • Double jogging stroller?

I'm shopping around for an affordable double jogging stroller (under $200 if possible). I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old, so the seats must recline back pretty far. Any suggestions?

  • Electric Breast Pump?

I used a manual breast pump with my first child - a Medela hand pump. It worked really well, but it was kind of slow getting milk out (took about 20-30 minutes - sometimes longer - of pumping).

Anyway, I would like to purchase an electric pump. It doesn't need to be a double pump because I am going to breastfeed. The pump is just for relief and building a freezer supply of milk, just in case (which is what I did with my son and it worked out really well).

Any suggestions? Ideally I'd like to keep it within $100-200, but am willing to pay more for quality if needed. Thanks!

  • 16 month old will not nap?

Just over the past week or so, my 16 month old son will not go down for a nap. I know he needs one, but I cannot get him to fall asleep. (He's grumpy and unpleasant throughout the remainder of the day when he doesn't nap.)

    Any suggestions?

  • 8 weeks along - serious nausea and vomiting.?

I was nauseous and threw up while I was pregnant with my son. However, this pregnancy is far worse. I started vomiting at 4 weeks, I'd throw up once, maybe twice, each day. Yesterday I threw up 4 times, and today, I've already vomited 3 times.

I've tried everything I can think of - saltines, ginger ale, sprite, lemonade, toast, chicken broth, you name it.

I'm at a loss - is there any remedy to getting this nausea and vomiting to subside for even a couple hours? Any experience?

    Much appreciated.

  • Pregnant ladies - How are you feeling? Anyone else sick of vomiting?

I'm only 8 weeks along with my second and I've been nauseous and been throwing up 2 or more times daily since 4 weeks. I'm getting really tired of throwing up - I'm afraid to leave the house, because I'm worried I'll throw up all over the floor in the grocery store, or something.

When I was pregnant with me son I only threw up once in the morning throughout my whole pregnancy - but the vomiting didn't start until 8 or 9 weeks.

I'm not as tired as I was a couple weeks ago, thank goodness. However, other than the nausea and vomiting I'm feeling pretty ok.

How are the rest of you feeling (how far along are you - is it your first? Second? Third?...)

  • Re-post: My 14 month old bites...?

My son recently started biting. I know he's not doing it to be mean. I think he's just curious. In any case, the behavior is wrong and can lead to bigger problems. How did you get your child to stop biting?

Someone told me to flick him in the cheek whenever he did it, but I don't particularly agree with that kind of punishment. Time outs obviously don't work at this age, because he's too young to understand. I've tried saying 'no' or 'uh uh, don't bite!' But it doesn't seem to be working (been doing it for upwards of a month).

The two people who did answer my question don't have children and told me to spank him and bite him back. :-/ Any other suggestions?

  • Pregnant ladies - How are you feeling?

Hey ladies - just wanted to check up on you and see how you're feeling?

I'm 6 weeks along, today, and I've been throwing up like crazy. This pregnancy has been much harder than when I was pregnant with my son, so far. I didn't throw up with him until 8 weeks, and only threw up once in the morning and felt fine the rest of the day. This time I throw up several times and still feel sick throughout the day.

However, other than morning sickness and fatigue, I don't have much to complain about. How are you all feeling, today?

  • 5 weeks pregnant - headaches?

First of all, let me tell you that I'm allergic to Tylenol (acetaminophen). Therefore, I cannot take most pain medicines.

Anyway, I'm 5 weeks pregnant and have had massive headaches. Typically I drink a coke or take a couple ibuprofen to help with pain. However, since I can't really take either of those, does anyone have any other suggestions to help with the headaches?

I have a 14 month old son, but never got headaches while I was pregnant with him.

P.S. I posted this in the pregnancy section, but people told me to take tylenol - obviously didn't read the question.

    Thanks in advance.

  • 14 Month old and pregnant with #2 - quick question for experienced mommies of multiple children?

My son is currently 14 months old. I'm only 4 weeks along with #2. I know there's no way to guarantee your children will get along. However, I'm curious how you introduced pregnancy and siblings to your other children so it's not as big of a shock after the baby comes along. What did you do to help your little one understand that there's going to be another baby in the mix?

(Of course, he's not going to understand right now - he's a little young. I'm just curious for as he gets older and my pregnancy gets further along.)

  • When did you find out you were pregnant?

I just took a test about 5 minutes ago and I'M PREGNANT!!! Woo hoo! I'm so excited!

When I was pregnant with my son, I found out the day I was supposed to start my period. I realized today that I was feeling slightly off. So I checked my calender and realized that I was supposed to start my period today. So I got out of bed (bad time to take a test, I know, but I was just curious) and took a test and sure enough it was positive! I'm so excited, I keep shaking.

So my question to all you expecting ladies - when did you take a test and get your positive?

  • Switching to sippy cup...?

I asked a question earlier today about switching to a sippy cup. But I have another question.

Background - my son has been using sippy cups since he was 6 months old. But has been taking his milk in bottle up until now (he's 14 months). He doesn't seem very interested in drinking the entire 8 oz in a cup before bed like he normally does from a bottle. (I live in Georgia, so it's almost 6:00 and he goes to bed at 6:30.)

Should I just plan on giving him more solid foods before bed instead of 8 oz of formula? (No whole milk yet because he has trouble digesting it.)

Also, how much formula/milk should I be giving him daily?

    Thanks for your answers!
