Q about Facebook privacy; Friends and Groups?

I'm not seeing the answer to this anywhere so maybe ya'll can help me.

I posted some information to an open group, of which my family are not members. I didn't not make this information public on my page nor did a feed showing I had posted within the group show up.

However, yesterday evening my family asked me about the information. HOW did they know I posted in this group, of which they are not members? What are they seeing on THEIR end?

Update:

Correction: This is actually a Page (it just works like a Group.) I'm one of the admins, so is there any way to keep anyone from seeing my post on that particular page? How do I adjust the privacy settings for each category of Friends? (Family, Professional, etc.) I'm not seeing a way to bring up the categories of Friends so I can change what they're seeing.

that is an open group, so anyone can see the posts which you've entered even If they are not a member in that group. I think they saw that feeds on family group page which shows the activities of the family members. If u dont want this, then change ur privacy on that open group's page, like only the members of tat group can see ir posts.

once you bypass to replace your prestige, you may see a splash tab, with a lock on it, click on it and click on customize, then you fairly write in the names of people you wanna block from seeing this wall submit ( i think of you may do it every time for each submit) . and then they cant see this wall submit. i'm hoping this facilitates :D
