Can you recommend me artists similar to Stevie Ray Vaughan?
title says all you need to know, I believe.Guitarists preferably Strat/LP/SG users.
All the guitarists recommended so far are great. However, I must say that with the exception of a couple guitarists, all the other's I already know (and like).
What I am looking for, more specifically, is someone (or a band) with a guitar style that sounds like SRV's: Fast and catchy phrases, preferably on the bass pickup, with lots of notes, medium/fast tempo (or fast solos/licks in slow tempo),and some lengthy soloing (a la AC/DC's "Show Business" or SRV's "Testify", or like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFOuuJePD7U ).I'd really appreciate it if you guys could name some such artists that come close to these. Thanks again, both to those who already replied and those who are going to reply.

Hello there,
While all the guitarists named so far are very good. None really sounds like SRV. He had a unique style. I am surprised no one has mention Jimmy Vaughan. He was Stevie's older brother and taught Stevie to play. Jimmy Vaughan is a very good blues guitarist in his own right. Different from his younger brother, but still very good. Good enough that Fender puts out a Jimmy Vaughan model Stratocaster.
Later,
Hello again,
In addition to the other guitarists already mentioned, you should check these blues guitarists. Perhaps you will find some you like.
Johnny Winter
Albert King
Albert Collins
T Bone Walker
Lighting Hopkins
Freddie King
Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)
Those I would all call Texas blues style guitarists
Other blues guitarists you might consider include:
BB King
Roy Buchanan
John Mayall
Jeff Beck
Paul Butterfield
Mike Bloomfield

this is stressful. SRV became so unique.. i could say the closest you will get the artists who encouraged him i.e. johnny "guitar" watson, albert king. of direction Jimmie Vaughan should not be to undesirable the two
