Do you and your family have any strange Christmas traditions that you do each and every year?
I'm not asking about the normal stuff most of us do like the whole family dressing up and going house to house singing carols or getting the horses ready to pull that special sleigh with lots of sleigh bells to go to visit family on Christmas morning. I'm asking What are some of the strange traditions you all have?

The night before we all peel 10 pounds of shrimp to make Shrimp scampi while drinking rum eggnog. Normal stuff like caroling and sleigh bells? You probably roast chestnuts on an open fire also.
Merry christmas.

My husband has cooked Christmas dinner on condition that 1975, i'm now no longer even allowed interior the kitchen. Now our sons do the same of their families. I safeguard Boxing Day this is whilst, an prolonged time interior the previous, we had our first 'Hobbit Tea' (one greater enjoyed ones subculture finished with 2 coloration drinks). while that they were small my young ones they might open their stocking any time after midsection of the night besides the indisputable fact that for the grants we would desire to all arise have breakfast, be washed, dressed, dinner interior the oven and then take a seat down and open grants one at a time it replaced into as quickly as staggering a snicker. regrettably he's working all day at recent besides the indisputable fact that festivities will safeguard whilst he gets in.

we don't see each other... they send card and money so they can feel like good parents, and I call them all fake happy to hide how much I resent them and think they're spitting in my face... so it's the hypocritical dance. This year I'll start sending cards... Someone else write the lies for you, way less sickening...
If I had a tradition, it wouldn't be gifts (signing house to house??? plan to get killed...) it would be a feast, and everyone would have to say one good thing that he find in the others... a quality... and something he appreciate in that person... so sharing some positive and focus on the good.
My family blow away cash then belittle me with everything I do, mock and despise me... so what's the point... so this would be my tradition... expressing love, gratitude, qualities and positif!
If I had kids we'd buy a gift for the poor. Like santa, since st-nicolas is dead and this materialistic ways only make the rich more greedy and the poor feel more miserable.

Every year my oldest son got a very unusual food item. It was different each year, just whatever new, strange or unusual food item that we could find. Often from another culture or country because then it seemed unusual to us. It turned up in his stocking and each year everyone waited to see what it would be.
