Why will my dog not jump off the bed?!?

ok, my dog is a chinese crested powderpuff and she will not jump off the bed for any circumstances. It gets very ridiculous. My bed is about 1 1/2 feet tall or about from the middle of an adult shin, down to the floor. it is not very tall and she will not jump off the bed. She will whine and whine until somebod comes and tells her to jump, and she jumps. She normally jumps off the bed. until about a month ago. thanks all appretiated

My dog was about 5 years old when he finally began jumping off my bed. I have no idea why he wouldn't do it before but I think he was afraid. Then one day he did it, and the rest was history. He has also never walked down the stairs, only up the stairs..

She probably likes the attention she gets from you when she acts like that. Just ignore her and leave the room - eventually she will get down. You could put a treat on the floor and that may motivate her to jump off the bed. You would also prepare her food then bring the bowl in and let her smell it, but take it out of the room to another location so she will get down to eat it. It would be best if she could see the food bowl from the bed.
