Do you need a photo ID to take the SAT?

I am a Junior in high school, and am taking the SAT in March. I heard that one of the requirements on the day you take the test is a photo ID. I am a young Junior and do not have a driver's license or any other type of photo ID. Will my permit papers work? What should I do?

Starting on January 1, 2013 before you can take any SAT test you must show a picture ID. Every state in the United States issues State ID which is what you will need to get in. Just go to the same place that people go to get a drivers license and you can get an Id. States require different proof of who you are but usually they will want a birth certificate and something that proves you live where you live. If you have a bank account that works or is one of your parents go with you they can show their drivers license to prove they are your parents listed on your birth certificate and then they can bring a lease or mortgage payment coupon or utility statements. You can look it up on line. Good Luck.
