Can a person go to a bridal shop JUST for measurements?

My fiancée and I are getting married next fall in Ohio. He grew up in Indiana. All 5 of his groomsmen are from Indiana and live 3 hours away. My bridesmaids all live in Ohio. I feel bad for the groomsmen having to drive 3 hours here just for measurements. When the time comes, can they all get measured somewhere (A tux shop? Bridal shop? Local tailor / seamstress?) for a fee and just phone the measurements to our local bridal shop? I think it's dumb and costly for them to drive here just to be measured. Help please.

Find a chain tux shop that has locations near the groomsmen and the wedding location. They can get measured at their local shop and have the tux ready at the shop near the wedding. I'm sure there's not an extra fee. Tux shops do this all the time. A friend of mine did this back in the 1980's. All the groomsmen were coming from different parts of the country and their tuxes were ready near the wedding venue. They all matched and the fit was perfect.

For the tuxedos, it is fairly standard for groomsmen to go to any local tuxedo shop and get measured and fax in their measurements. There is no fee. Tuxedo shops do this all the time.

Why yes. In this economy, people will do anything for money. Try a locally owned shoo, or a taylor in private practice. They will be happy for the business. And don't forget to tip them. :))

they should call their local bridal shop and find out.
