How can you unlock files and folders of an external hard drive?
This is what happened. Since I wanted to protect the files that I have on my external hard drive, I decided to lock the major folder while using this one laptop. Now, it seems I do not know how to reverse the process. I tried unlocking the folder I locked (which contained the sub-folders, etc.) using the same laptop but the other folders inside it remain locked an inaccessible to me, the person who protected them in the first place.
The worse case is that this one laptop, which I used to lock all these folders, was reformatted to another operating system. So is there any other way I could unlock these restrictions? Thanks a bunch!
To clear things, I'm using a Windows 7 OS. To lock my folders, I used Properties > Security and changed its permissions to deny other users aside from me (the supposed Administrator) from accessing the files.

You have to try to open the file make sure your an administrator on the computer you hooked the enclosure up to and it will ask you to regive permissions to the hard drive files your trying to open. then the drive will open. if that doesnt work right click on it and go to permissions and add yourself to the drive
