Michigan Tea Bag/GOP just passed a law allowing guns in schools and churches.?
If the school children had been allowed to carry guns, like they can in Michigan now, would that have prevented today's tragedy in Connecticut.

It seems to me that if you allow people to own guns for purposes beyond recreational use, you are saying that you believe that having guns in society does not make gun crime more likely. Now if you are saying that, hopefully you truly believe that. If you truly believe that, then why on earth shouldn't people be allowed to carry them around? Isn't that the whole point- you're able to protect yourself? Do I personally think it's a good idea? No, I think it's a terrible idea, however, I also don't agree with people owning guns, so of course I don't think it's good. I do think that Americans need to stop being so contradictory with their gun laws. Either guns make for more gun crime or they don't, and if they don't, then yes let people carry them!

I'm fine with allowing teachers the right to have guns.

Good for them.
At least they won't be having the horrific murders like the have in CT
