Skyrim question, do I get money and when?
I just started playing and I'm loving the game (xbox version). I was doing companion missions and could not kill a mage, so I bought some really nice armor and only had a little gold left. Then I saw that I can buy a horse, which I want to do even though I kind of think I'll regret it haha. So to try and earn some money I joined the storm cloaks. I got a little gold from taking it from dead bodies, but will they ever just hand me money for quest?

Well, I joined up with the Imperials, and I do get a small gold reward each time I finish a quest (~1000-1200 gold) and usually a weapon/armor reward too, which you can sell for money. I think the reward amounts and quality of reward may be leveled, though, meaning it correlates to your current level, so if you're a lower level it may be less money. Regardless, in my civil war quests, I do get gold reward, so I assume it's the same for Stormcloaks. Plus, you get a lot of loot and rewards from chests during these missions, anyway.
In addition to the Dark Brotherhood quests the others recommended (and I do as well, it's awesome and probably the most fun questline in the game, imo), the Thieves Guild quests in Riften also pays a good sum for both the main questline and the side quests (burglaries, heists, etc), so that's another way to go for quick cash.
A lot of good money can be made off of smithing, enchanting and alchemy, too, if you got spare parts and ingredients lying around. If you loot jewelry off dead bodies, just enchant them with anything and they'll be instantly worth more.
Personally, I really don't think horses are worth it - they're pretty cheap, but they do not run very fast anyway, and die pretty easily. Shadowmere's a bit more durable, and she's free. Plus, if she does die, she respawns after 10 days, and the other horses, if they die, they're gone.

Try to find a bunch of bandit camps. They usually have a lot of loot you can sell for gold and carry gold. If your level is high enough you could attempt a giants camp (save your game before you try that though) go into caves. A lot of the time they have loot. Pick up ANY potion you find and sell all the ones you don't use. (I never use the ones in the big round brown bottles so I sell them for quite a bit. I also sell all my poisons) and then there's crafting. You can collect ores and leather (from animals) and makes daggers or whatever you want and sell them or you can collect flowers and other ingredients and make potions to sell. Hope I could help! Have fun!

In bars you can get bounties of local raiders. In Whiterun that pays 100 gold plus whatever you get off of the people. But remember, you can always sell what you don't need which gets quite a bit of cash as well. Different quests later on will get you some money, as you will soon find out. I would wouldn't go for the horse until later, but you could always steal one ;) XD

It took me a on an identical time as to get the hold close of bobbing up money in skyrim, reason there's no equipment defects like in oblivion. What I usually do is save all of my loot weapons, armor, and potions etc. And sell them as you get them reason you are able to consistently get greater yet there are nonetheless uncommon products that are greater benificial in case you keep them. you will make alot of money yet it takes time. i could say to rank you're sneak means extreme and be a thief incredibly uncomplicated money suitable there. wish that works for ya. I very own it and that i won't be in a position to anticipate the recent game to come again out, it incredibly is meant to be online:)

I agree with both other posters, but I wanted to correct Panda- Shadowmere CAN die. It's tough, but it can happen. If you get the Dawnguard DLC, there's a certain quest you can do that will give you a spell to summon a skeletal horse named Arvark though, and HE can't die.
You can also find small amounts of gold on bodies (including dragons) and in urns.

Join the Dark Brotherhood, easy money for killing innocents, as well as earning the horse "Shadowmere," in which will never die...Pretty good, and you get decent dark brotherhood armor which increases select skills I've forgotten.

Try this, haven't seen it, but it should help you getting into the Dark Brotherhood.
