Will I like Halo 4 if I didn't like the other Halo games?
I like aliens and robots and sh!t, but I don't like the Halo games. I heard Halo 4 is really good though, and it's a newish story, so I won't be real confused. And I like Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed but not Gears of War, just to give you something about my gaming personality to go on.

If you didn't get in real depth with previous Halo games, you'll be really confused. I personally love the Halo series. My favorite. Halo 4 was a real game-changer because of its intense storyline and great multiplayer. But it even goes into the novels, which I doubt you read.
I'm a lover of Call of Duty as well. The two games balance my experience. I don't think Halo 4 would be a good fit for you, but I know a couple of other games that you might like:
1. The Crysis series is a great storyline. Explosions, and badass guys in robotic suits. It's pretty cool.
2. Other games like Fallout or Borderlands 2 are great as well.
Hope this helps!

I would play them in every single place again, though I relatively do not suppose it is indispensable. However for the sake of saving time, i would say it would be good to at the least watch the Legendary ending of Halo three. The hobbies of attain arise before Halo: CE, so it's now not all that pertinent to the Halo four storyline.. Despite the fact that, the end of Halo: reach is large in the experience it immediately branches to Halo: CE and the second final/last degree gives some perception into Cortana, which would be new knowledge if you're not acquainted one of the vital Halo books and different media (and you understand Halo four explores the relationship between Chief and Cortana more). The crusade honestly wasn't that memorable, but it wasn't bad both. That you could play in case you really think the necessity, or just watch the last few cutscenes and Legendary ending on youtube. This is not relatively giving anything away, however at the begin of Halo 4, there may be a console that you can spark off in order to offer you an ideal rapid recap of the preceding hobbies that led up to the then (essentially the most important hobbies of Halo 1-3). It's also an achievement. The console is placed within the very 2nd room you enter, down the stairs.

I have Halo 4 and I LOVE IT! On the other hand, I do not enjoy Call of Duty... I say that Halo 4 is very similar to the other Halo games. If you didn't like Halo for the gameplay/futuristic style, then it is the same thing I don't recommend it. But if you didn't like Halo for the story, then this story is easy to jump into and get fully immersed in...
So my final recommendation is no, don't get it. But if you try out Gamefly or borrow it from a friend for a day or two that would be the best way to decide for yourself :)

Well Halo 4 is the first game featuring Master Chief that doesn't revolve around...well, a Halo. Going back to what happened before then, all you have to know is that Chief is stranded. The story is very original, only needing like four pieces of knowledge:
1. Chief is stranded
2. Halsey is arrested
3. The Human-Covenant War is over
4. Cortana is one year past her decommissioning date
Everything else is explained later on, and there are very few references to other games. Yet it still feels like a Halo game, which is something really nice.

Just rent the game and play it. If you are an online player then just try that out, the campaign doesn't matter. If, however, you are a story-player (play games for the campaign) then I suggest you at least read a little about Halo, or play Halo 3. If you just haven't liked the game play feel of the halo games, then you won't like any of them, so don't play it.
Good luck.

I agree with Kyle. The story is really a part of all of the others. Also, the game play is pretty much the same.

It has story elements pulled from the novels. You'll be as lost as a fat guy in a gym.
