Can a landlord sign a lease then sell the house without telling you?
We signed a one year lease for our home and right after we moved in they put it on the market and sold it 2 months later. I understand that they have the right to sell it if they give us notice to vacate, but do they have the right to go into contract with me without disclosing their intention of selling it before the lease was signed?

I don't understand the problem. The lease prevails - you still have one year to stay there.

There are several questions here.
Did they have to inform you that the house would be sold, before you signed the lease? NO. But it would have been nice.
Do they have the right to put the house up for sale during the lease term? YES
Do you have to move before your lease is up; either because the house is listed or because it has a new owner? NO. the lease runs with the property. Any new buyer must honor the lease until it expires.
Do you have to allow the property to be shown while under lease? NO. YOu have the right to something called quiet enjoyment. This is a legal right.
If they want you to move, then they should buy you out of your lease (2-3 months rent is a good amount).

If you have a one year lease, then even if the landlord sells the home.....the lease transfers over to the buyer and the buyer is legally obligated to honor the lease. The buyer of the home would then become your new landlord. You are not obligated to leave/break the lease early just because your landlord sold the home.

Yes it is their property
You do not need notice actually
They can place it on the market anytime
The Future Owner will have to however follow the terms of your lease

Yes, they can sell with informing you of their intent at any time. Your lease travels along with the property to the new owners.

Of course he can, it's HIS house! He doesn't need your permission and he does not have to disclose to you what his intention are.
Also, you are incorrect in that he has to give you notice to vacate if he sells. Whoever buys the house also buys your lease.
