Can a landlord sign a lease then sell the house without telling you?
We signed a one year lease for our home and right after we moved in they put it on the market and sold it 2 months later. I understand that they have the right to sell it if they give us notice to vacate, but do they have the right to go into contract with me without disclosing their intention of selling it before the lease was signed?
7 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoNeed help with Virus DSV.exe. can't restore, launch browser or anything?
so i got some bug that keeps making my system try and install some anti virus software and pops up all the time. I've tried to get rid of it using AVG and others but its always been there. Yesterday I noticed that there were many programs running on my task manager that shouldn't be and that I didn't recognize. I closed them, one of them kept coming back called DSV.exe every time i tried to do anything. I've tried different ways of restoring, but i don't have the original windows disk. I managed to get AVG to run at some point. it removed a few things, but didn't fix the issue.
Now I can't boot up with out this taking over my computer and not allowing me to launch or load any programs. any ideas?
1 AnswerSecurity1 decade agoHair bleaching halfway done, I need your help?
Ok, so I'm bleaching my wifes hair and she currently has very dark natural hair, plus she has dyed it almost black to cover some grays. I did the first round of bleach and its at the blonde at the roots and mostly red/orange everywhere else stage. We washed it out and today I'm going to do another round of bleach to get it blonde... do I need to know anything special about doing it a second time? Can I leave it in the same amount of time? Once bleached we're going to ad color and highlights back into it.

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoBrown radiator fluid??? I have a '89 Chevy Suburban that started leaking fluid. ?
I found that the leaks were coming from were the hose and the thermostat housing meat and also at the bottom radiator hose as well. The hoses are new, its just the fluid is getting around the clamps. I took it off and saw that the fluid was brown and soupy inside the thermostat housing. This made me think that the head gasket was blown, but there is no sign of anything in the oil and its not smoking or smelling weird. Could it just be a nasty radiator system or is it worse?
8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do I get the newspaper to do an article about something we're doing?
I've been putting together text message marketing campaigns for some of my clients around the Raleigh NC area. This text platform allows these businesses to market to their opt-in databases. I've got allot of restaurants, boutiques and retail shops who are doing it and I would love to help get the word out about their text campaigns. How do I go about proposing to the news paper to write about small businesses going mobile?
2 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoDo you use text message marketing?
I work for one of the best text message providers in the country. I am just starting off with this company and I'm trying to think of all the different types of businesses who can use text marketing effectively. I also need to think of creative ways of present it to them.
To make one thing clear, we do not allow businesses to spam or just blast messages out to anyone or everyone! This is an opt-in only service and we completely compliant with all federal and industry regulations.
Here is what I have done so far....
Most of my sales focus in on owner operated restaurants, boutiques and coffee shops. We promote our service to them as a loyalty program/mobile VIP club. I get a great response for business, but its very hard to get them to try it out even though we don't require a contract.
So my question is, do you use text marketing? Is so, what industry are you in? Do you have any ideas on how I could offer this service, or do you know of a good niche market to talk to??
Text is very very effective, but many business owners are afraid of trying something new during these slow economic times.
Thanks for your help!
3 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing1 decade agoHow can I tell if I need a new alternator or battery?
I have a 2003 VW Passat GLX. It has been sitting for about 3 months because I needed to get the breaks replaced and couldn't afford it at the time. After 3 months, I started the car and drove it to the mechanic shop and had the breaks done. I drove it home.... turned it off..... went inside and returned to the car 5 minutes later. All of the sudden it wouldn't start. I jumped it and took it down to AutoZone. The battery light came on and said to check it. AutoZone guys said the battery was bad and he thought the alternator was bad also. Is there anyway to tell if the alternator is bad at the same time the battery is bad? Is there a chance that its just the battery?
I can't afford to fix the alternator at this time, so there is no reason to replace the battery if it will not help.

3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow can I stop some one from changing the clock on my computer? Is there any way of locking selected functions
I don't need some one to tell me, "just don't let them use the computer". What I'm looking for is piece of software or a windows command that will prevent the clock from being changed.
Thanks for your help.
5 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoWhere can I find free articles for for publishing without violating a copy right?
I have a small newspaper that I publish and give away for free. We print about 4000 copies a month so we are very small. I'm in need of good short articles to publish, but, I can't afford to pay for them. Where can I find articles like this? If I were to find and use some one else's article, is it OK as long as I give them the credit, or do I have to have permission first?

11 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoConverting Trial users to paying customers???
I need some help. I own a piece of software that monitors computer time usage. Our website gets lots of traffic and lots of downloads, but, i'm having a hard time converting trial users to customers. Any suggestions?
I should add that all users can download a free demo version that last 5 days, after that they have to register the software and pay for it. The problem I'm having is that for every 1000 hits I get about 200 downloads, out of those I'm getting 4 or 5 sales. How can I improve that number?
The software can be found at http://www.childtimer.com/
Please don't think that I'm trying to promote my software by posting the website, I just need some good business advise and I know you would need to see the product before giving educated advise.

3 AnswersParenting1 decade agoWhat should I do for my wife? Today is her birthday, she is 9 weeks preg and my ankle is sprained very baddly.
I need some good ideas because all the plans I had made got thrown out the window when I rolled my ankle. Help me out here, gift ideas, things to do are all welcome.
3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoI sprained my ankle or broke it. How can I tell the difference?
I rolled it while playing softball 3 days ago. It feels really good if I don't put to much wait on it. I wasn't able to stand for the first 2 days, but now its getting better. When standing, it clicks alittle and feels loose, but, doesn't hurt. Its black and blue on both sides and still kind of swollen. How can I tell if its broked with out spending the money on doctors. And please, don't say "go to the doctor" I have heard that a thousand times, I just want to know if there is any other way of testing it before I go to the docs.
