1989 BMW 735l... Take R-12 for the air conditioner. I can buy some from a mechanic, but I don't know how much?

This guy has 6 12oz cans for $75.... is that enough?

Update:

Yes, I know that R-12 is not sold any more and that I should convert the whole system over to R134, but I don't want to. It seems easier to me to just buy the r12 and put it in... am i right?

Your system only holds about 1.5 lbs. So 6 12oz cans will be more than enough.

    "but I don't want to....."

Come on, get with the 21st century and convert that beast over to R134A - it's plentiful, relatively inexpensive and it won't pollute the atmosphere.
