Does the second amendment say you have the right to BUY a gun ?
I don't see it. Yes it says you can keep & bear arms. But I see any right to BUY guns in the second amendment.
I do NOT believe there is any single solution to the problems associated with gun ownership. But I do think if we are going to reduce availability of guns to criminals, we have to first reduce the availability of guns.

Absolutely impossible. They've been trying to reduce the supply of drugs for a long time to no avail. Better thing to do would be to allow all to carry. The majority of these shooters are cowards, and knowing that folks aren't terrified by their action, and that someone in the crowd will have big enough balls to cut the rampage very short, it would force them to find another outlet for their self loathing. Just think if that principal had had a gun, or the counselor, or one of the teachers, or the janitor that loser would have been stopped at the first classroom. Don't give up your rights for a little temporary security, then you won't have them when you really need them. Like when the government takes another of freedoms and you must defend yourself from them. That is what that part of the constitution is all about, and there are by far too many snakes in the hen house as we speak.

You can't infringe on a freedom that would facilitate another one. If an amendment said you were allowed to eat, but made no mention of buying food, wouldn't you say that buying food is an important implicit assumption written into the amendment?

Yes it does. If you have a right to keep and bear arms, that means you have a right to buy a gun.

Hmmm good question. Does the 1st amendment say I have the right to a telephone, TV, Computer, Radio, access to the internet etc.... I don't see it.

I don't think you want to go down that rabbit hole. If you don't have the right to buy guns, then you don't have the explicit right to buy anything which is perfectly legal to own. The government could then outlaw the sale of Ho-Hos, Big Macs, certain newspapers it dislikes, or anything else it pleases. Sure you could OWN those things...just not buy them.

Any reasonable interpretation of the second amendment would conclude that it does indeed protect the right to purchase firearms. If it was illegal to buy or sell them, that would effectively make it illegal to obtain them, which violates one's right to own them.

Please note that the application of present law
would have been more than sufficient to prevent the
disaster that has just happened.
GET A CLUE PEOPLE the reason why this happened
was multiple violations of current law.
WE DO NOT NEED NEW LAW TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE!
WAKE UP AMERICA!

If you cannot buy guns, how else can you own and use them legally? Use you head man.
