I have a tree in my garden I want to take out. It's about 25 feet tall & I can fell & cut it up OK. But I have no idea where the (legal) sites are to take garden waste. If I was on a farm, I'd just build a new compost heap.

I have a friend (No. Not me. Really. Yes, honestly, an online friend).

I have a friend who wrote 2-3 bad checks about 8 years ago in the state of South Dakota and has no previous record & no subsequent issues.

Apparently there is an arrest warrant out for her in South Dakota. I am trying to resolve the situation for her, as this shows on her criminal background check, when she applies for work in Michigan.

I would like to find a way for her to offer to pay back the money in question, to see if the arrest warrant could be withdrawn - but my friend is unemployed, living in a friends spare bedroom & has absolutely no money.

I'm not denying this was the wrong thing to do. But right now, she's been out of work for years & has little or no chance of gettign work, with the warrant on record.

I wish she'd done something about this years ago & then it could eventually have been expunged. But right now, she's got no chance of fixing this.

IS there a limit to how long the warrant can stay around for ?

I have M$ Outlook configured to receive email for multiple email addresses (work, family, FB, etc.). I have a long list of addresses in my address book.

Q. How do I configure Outlook, so that anytime I want to send an email to a specific address in my address book, it automatically uses a particular email account. I use my default when I send to multiple people. So that is not a problem.

e.g.

For johnsmith@gmail.com use mework@gmail.com

For janesemour@hotmail.com use mefamily@gmail.com

For harryjones@gmai.com use meFB@gmail.com

etc.

I've been trying to get Windows updates to work for about a month now. Everything is fine......until I try to reboot. It shuts down OK. Then when it goes to restart, it hangs. I can wait 30 minutes & it sits there with a blank screen and theat annoying animated circling small circles, like they actually mean something.

Has anyone else actually got updates to work, with Windows 8 ?

I bought a new laptop, with Windows 8 pre-installed. Finally, Microsoft made something as bad as Windows ME.

I can't find any discs of Windows 7, that's installed on other machines. As I already have the more valuable Windows 8, is there a way to get M$ to send me the less valuable Windows 7 ?

I've been a computer user since the 70's. So I'm not too worried about having to do anything like BIOS changes etc. I just have to get rid of this abomination.

I don't see it. Yes it says you can keep & bear arms. But I see any right to BUY guns in the second amendment.

I do NOT believe there is any single solution to the problems associated with gun ownership. But I do think if we are going to reduce availability of guns to criminals, we have to first reduce the availability of guns.

I have high current income. But it mostly goes on paying down debts & retirement savings. As I will be debt free going into requirements, the "expert" recommendations of how much I need for retirement seem excessively high.

I give online "peer" mental health counseling - normally in Second Life. Mostly, to help people deal with past trauma or abuse.

Last night, a Second Life friend of mine took an overdose of prescription medication. I'm all the way across the country from her & only had IM communication. She was alone & refusing to call 911. I kept her talking & got her to call a local friend. It took about 90 minutes, to that point. She had apparently taken the drugs without thinking, and when she started to feel abdominal pain, I tried to make her understand it would get worse, if she didn't act - (she was passive & I wanted to encourage her to "self-rescue").

As soon as her local (nurse) friend showed up, she got my friend to the ER, where they pumped out whatever she hadn't already vomited, gave her a saline drip & kept her for a few hours observation, before sending her home. She's on Medicaid, so I wasn't expecting much more.

I was so incredibly isolated last night. It was super scary - and the most tiring thing I have done in many, many years. I just don't have any training to know how to deal with CURRENT crisis. Next time I may not be so good.

I'm a natural empathic manipulator. But I don't know what the goals are in a crisis, beyond rudimentary first aid & calling 911, I have no plans to look for a suicide line job. But where can I get some of the training ?

I read in bed - lying on my side, I need the text to stay in portrait. But as soon as I bring it down in front of my face, text rotates to landscape. How do I stop this, so I can read in bed ?
