When did Western Culture start changing married women's last names?
Im reading a historical fiction novel about medievel England when marriages were arranged for politics and wars. I notice all the women still keep the last name they were born with after marriage.

I don't know.
Source(s): I kept my maiden name and added my husband's last name after mine.
