What other things can you think of doing with an assault rifle?

(1) Killing people from other religions.

(2) Killing people who disagree with my politics.

(3) Killing people who look at me funny.

(4) Killing people who . . . gosh, well, just killing people!

@Obamna: first one to exploit this tragedy for political ends was Mike Huckabee on Fox News. He made his comments less than 5 hours after the kids were killed.

It's true that in most mass killings, the shooters preferred semi-automatic pistols to assault rifles; let's restrict them both. Since they're select-fire, by definition, they can be used in semi-automatic mode for the same sporting purposes as their semi-automatic variants: varminting, target shooting, etc. They are a bit clunky, though.

Before you go off the deep end on this topic, keep in mind that legally owned assault rifles have been used in the US exactly twice in the entire history of assault rifles, oddly both instances being in Ohio. And one of those was by an off-duty cop, who'd have had access to the thing under any restrictions. In these politicized days, be very cautious when you hear people talking about "assault weapons," an entirely different thing, which can include a rock as well as a rifle.

Any thing you can do with any other rifle. Target shoot, hunt, repel home invaders etc.

However the civilian versions of so called assault rifles aren't assault rifles. They just have the look.

Dressing up like a Hells Angel doesn't make you one and would probably get you beat up at the least if you ran into a real one.

So called civilian versions of assault rifles are the equivalent of playing dress up.

Shoot pigeons and rabbits, to eat when everyone is in the FEMA camps, and the drones are flying around, and there is no more food stamps. GEe did you know that China had a nut case that stabbed 23 children stabbed 2 death! the same day that are nutcase in The US shot kids, so taking away guns is not going to stop killing. furthermore I don't allow guns in my house not even squirt guns, however if the government is going to require children to go to school the state is going to require children to attend school with the parents being arrested if they don't send them, then they should be liable for their safety, and realistically those teachers should have bullet proof vests and be armed and carry a Taser the children will still be safer that way. also almost 1,000,000 people in Britain have a very bad flu they had to close several wards in the hospitals because it's over crowded in to take no more people, all around the world there is something going on. but taking guns away or trying to take away is only going to cause more bloodshed. sad part is people think they're doing good like gmo in our are foods. thanks but no thanks.

Defend against liberal terrorists. They drone strike 16 year old American citizens and they gun down American school children. America won't be safe until liberalism is put to an end!
