Why don't mass murderers use clubs, knives, or rocks instead of guns?

Because it's harder to be a murderer that way. The attack in China on Friday by a guy with a knife on children in a school clearly demonstrates the difference. None of those 22 children died. That incident and others like it will make it harder for the NRA to make the case that guns don't make the actions of a disturbed individual much, much worse. If Lanza had been carrying a knife there would be some children alive today, getting ready to celebrate Christmas with their families. The NRA and its apologists are going to have to come to terms with that reality and stop resisting common sense efforts to prevent it from happening again.

Since when does making something illegal make it disappear? By your logic the War on Drugs is a raving success! We shouldn't have ANY illicit drugs. And Prohibition would have been a success.

However, the reality is neither are/were a success. Alcohol flourished during prohibition and drugs continue to ravage society. And, making them illegal pushes things underground and creates a very savage and dangerous black market.

Do you honestly think this will not happen if guns become illegal? And do you not realize that the VAST majority of criminals and gun violence have ILLEGALLY acquired guns? You people apparently lack any semblance of logical reasoning. Can you not see past your own short sighted ignorance?

Guns will never stop flowing into this country whether they are legal or not. Better to regulate and track to some degree legally purchased guns than not have any oversight at all, which is what happens with illegal guns. Furthermore, taking away legal guns from law abiding citizens just makes them more vulnerable to illegal gun toting criminals. Studies show that the more strict gun laws are, the more violent crime there is; due to criminals less likely to face an armed victim.

If you think criminals or crazies will say "oh, guns are illegal, I'm not going to buy that pistol from the mobster in the alley, i better just use that knife in my kitchen to kill all those people..." you have the intelligence of a retard.

They do all the time in countries like China where gun control laws are very strict! Do some research and you will find guns are not the problem people are.

They do. There was a man who initiated a car chase near Reading, PA and it ended at a railroad crossing with a train approaching. He used his car to push hers onto the tracks. Two women and two small children died. Does this not matter to you simply because a gun wasn't involved? The worst school massacre in the U.S. occurred in 1927 and used dynamite.

He's a mass murderer. And he has a knife. Isn't it kind of obvious why I would be afraid? O_o

They can't all be like Jack the Ripper but I guess he wasn't a mass murderer. Instead of guns maybe they will start using bombs.

Because guns are the most effective weapon of murder. Any six year old knows that.

Because someone who is legally protecting themselves by concealing a gun, would gun them down. There's no chance of survival.

20 children were stabbed in China the other by a nut. 0 died. 20 children are shot in Connecticut the other day by a nut. 20 died.
