    In long division form, write 280 divided by 8.

    Then, 8 will go into 28 by a quotient of 3 and remainder of 4 (1st step)

    Then drop the 0 from the top line to make the remainder 40. (2nd step)

    Then, 8 will go into 40 by a quotient of 5 and no remainder.

    So, 280 divided by 8 will give you a quotient of 35 and zero remainder.

    How many 8's in 28 = 3 remainder 4

    Then, put the remainder 4 in front of the 0

    So, how many 8's in 40 = 5

    Answer = 35
