it could work if your disc can still be read to start the game(meaning it shows on the dashboard that it's in the drive) it would, if not just take it to be fixed for 3$

No, installing a game to your hd only puts portions of the game on your hd NOT THE FULL GAME!!! Its made to do this to speed up loading time dose not require disk to spin constant and less use of the fan ( as disk will not be spinning constant and ur xbox will be quiter) when u install it u get not even 30% of the actual game on your hd

It depends how deep the scratch is. At most DVD Rental/Video Game shops are refurbishing things to fix scratches on disks. Costs a maximum of $5

Ignore everyone else if ur friend has a perfect copy he can install it on ur xbox and youp ut ur disc in and play the installed one and it works fine.

If not, get your disc refurbished atGamestop/Blockbusters for $3.

That happen to me installing didn't work but at family video or a rental DVD place for 2 or 3 dollars can refurbish it then it works

Ps3s genuinely get very hot however they don't seem to be really "over heating" on the whole when it gets sizzling adequate that you just pull your hand away is the time to show it off my ps3 usually will get there around the 3 or 4 hour factor in no way go over 5 however its good enough what your doing

Try resurfacing. You can resurface your disk and that will clean out the scratches.
