When I made my personal decision regarding belief in God I did not look it up in a dictionary, the bible or any other book or reference written by a human being. Nor did I ask anyone. I am open to opinions from all of those sources. I have read and heard many for and against. So far none have convinced me they are any more qualified to explain Gods job description than I am. I am not qualified to do it either.

I have decided to believe in God. There is always something or some one in charge.

The notion that any other human being today or who has ever lived telling me what god is and what god wants is so ridiculous it makes me nauseous.

Amazingly people have been falling for the same tricks from religious leaders for at least 2000 years. One need only contemplate the oceans of blood, prevailing ignorance, and endless human suffering that can be laid at the feet of religious leaders.

That includes those who wrote the bible and those who re-wrote and revised the bible who knows how many times. Does the term King James Bible mean anything to you? Does the notion our ancestors left that family because they wanted a better life mean anything too you. Sad thing is we accomplished nothing in coming here, that family and the international bankers that work with them still own and control us.

    Yes. And John 1:1 also.

He has many names...she...whatever. My God has many names...and is everything, and nothing. There are not enough words in any language to envelope Gods entirety. Except perhaps Love. And mankind as a whole has little concept of it's true meaning. The book you refer too is inspired by thus, but still written...edited and rewritten by man...Trust your heart...for it is there that God speaks.

Yes, but I have a different explanation. The story in Genesis is simply poetic allegory which is easier to understand and was perfectly suited for the time in which it was written.
