Body image help please?
Hi there. I am in recovery from Anorexia because I was apparently under weight, but when I look in the mirror I see a muffin top and a flabby stomach. I am 5'6 and weight 116 pounds. I can't help but compare myself to those around me and notice how much skinnier they are than me. Why is this happening? I am currently at a stable weight after being on a meal plan for a few months, but I feel overweight and fat. Help anybody? Why was I diagnosed Anorexic when I think that I'm fat?

You were diagnosed as Anorexic despite thinking that you're overweight because that's part of anorexia. The reason that many anorexia sufferers control their food intake so harshly is because they feel overweight, even though they are not. Sometimes they're dangerously underweight, but they still feel the need to lose more.
This body image is part of what you have to struggle through when you have an eating disorder. I can't give you any personal advice, not being a sufferer myself, but I've seen several close friends go through this.
P.S: I'm really glad that your weight is stabilizing and I hope you can start to view yourself more positively in the future. Stay strong <3

Because you are dangerously self conscious. Everyone who has anorexia feels like that, and you need to stop worrying. You can die from starving yourself. If a doctor says you have anorexia, trust him/her. They have a degree.
