I know this is where military personnel return from overseas here on a daily basis, but do their families usually greet them here?

A lot of times, it's just other people as frequently the returning servicemen will connect to another city to get home. Sometimes families will be there, but most often it's other people there to greet the troups.
It is a nice event if you've not been out there to do it.
