My dog has Hypothyroidism.. How long does it take for medicane to work...?

My male husky (he is 5years old) was just diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. He is about 15lbs overweight and his fur is VERY course. He just started his medicane on Saturday. Approx how long does it take before you start seeing results. He has to take a pill every 12 hours.

Thanks!

My keeshond got diagnosed when he was i think 4 or 5 too. He is 8 now. My keeshond was between 20 and 40 pounds overweight. His fur should improve in about a month. As for his weight, The pill will only help you get him to loose weight. You need to feed him 2 times a day and feed him a quality food like taste of the wild. You should only have to feed him 1 cup twice a day of taste of the wild. That food will also help his fur. You also need to walk him a lot. It took my dog about a year to loose all his weight but he had a lot more to loose than your dog. Is the medication levothyhroxine? The little blue/green pills? My dog takes 1 every 12 hours. It sounds like your dog got diagnosed pretty early so it didn't have too bad of symptoms. You should see a difference in 2 weeks to a month

We often see hypothyroid symptoms totally reversed when commits to a plan that supports balance through nutrition and daily self-care. Learn here https://tr.im/HsAb2

Consume foods naturally high in B vitamins, such as whole grains, nuts, and seeds, and iodine (fish, seaweed, vegetables and root vegetables).

Exercise daily, at least 30–60 minutes per day, 4–5 times a week.

Practice deep breathing and other techniques that trigger the “relaxation response” – such as meditation and guided visualization.

You should see a marked improvement within a month. His energy level will rise and he will start losing the weight.

Why didn't you ask the vet who has prescribed it? I have NO idea what Medicane is.
