As for his weight, The pill will only help you get him to loose weight. You need to feed him 2 times a day and feed him a quality food like taste of the wild. You should only have to feed him 1 cup twice a day of taste of the wild. That food will also help his fur. You also need to walk him a lot. It took my dog about a year to loose all his weight but he had a lot more to loose than your dog. Is the medication levothyhroxine? The little blue/green pills? My dog takes 1 every 12 hours. It sounds like your dog got diagnosed pretty early so it didn't have too bad of symptoms. You should see a difference in 2 weeks to a month
