  • I want a 3rd dog, husband says no...?

SO all my life i've dreamed of owning raising a wolf. When i was little i wanted to be zoologist so i could raise and work with wolves.

I was just given the opportunity to adopt a mid content wolfdog. My husband and i currently own 2 huskies and i know my husband will say no to adding another dog to the house...

I don't want to resent him for saying no and i won't want to think 'm being selfish for wanting this wolfdog so bad.

We've had a very rocky marriage. He cheated on my for the first 5 years (we're going on year 7). i'm seriously considering moving out with my dog and getting the wolfdog. Am i being insane??

  • What makes a good dog daycare (dog Kennel)?

My friend and i are thinking of opening our down dog daycare. We are wondering what someone choose one over the other.

These are what we have listed as important

    - OWNER operated (not run by teenagers)

    - Separate areas for small dogs and one for shy dogs

    - Kennel free (BUT have kennels available incase dog needs quite time to rest)

    - Live video available so owners can watch their dogs

    - NO extra charge to give medication

    - Outside grass play area (NOT on fake grass/pavement)

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Family photo opinion appreciated?

For Christmas us kids got our parents a gift card for a family photo. The grandparents, parents (us) and grandchildren are going to be in the photo (15 of us in total). Since my husband and i don't have kids we were wondering if it would be tacky to include our two dogs? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • What would you do in this situation?

    So here is my problem...

My husband wants to go back to Ontario (where his family is) for Thanksgiving. We haven't seen them in over 3 years. He really wants me to come with him. We have two huskies..

Here is the problem: Last time i went away (for only 3 days) my dog didn't eat/drink or go to the bathroom. When i got home he had to be taken to the vet on put on IV.

My husband wants to go away for 5 days. I am worried about leaving my dog- but i know he really misses his family...

Our neighbours said they would look after the dogs- but last time i left my husband was home and my dog got that sick (he has REALLY bad seperation anxiety from me...)

What should i do? Your opinions would really help... thanks!

  • Where to get cheap/free dog food for rescue dogs?

    Hi Everyone

My husband works for a plumbing company and he had to work out on the Indian reserve yesterday. They have so many starving dogs out there. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get some cheap (or possibly free) dog food. I dont' care if it's 'crap' quality- these poor dogs were trying to eat cups and paper...

I was thinking maybe the pet stores would sell their expired dog food for a discount price??

I really want to help these poor dogs!!

    Thanks

  • Dog park toy aggression?

I have a 2 year old Husky mix who up until just recently, has been the perfect dog. I've been taking her to the dog park since it opened (about 3 months now), on a very regular basis (about 3 times a week). The past couple times she's been there, she's had a problem with aggression towards other dogs when toys are involved. We have never seen this with humans. And she's always great with other dogs when toys aren't involved. But as soon as another dog has a toy, she doesn't want them to have it, and she'll fight over it. It's happened about 3 times now, and I've always broken up the fight and left with her immediately. I just don't know what to do with her now.

Is there anything I can do to get her to stop this toy aggression?

  • my husky is rapidly gaining weight..?

My male husky (that is 4 years old) went from being 86 lbs up to 94 in about a month. The vet checked him and said he is fine (no underlying heath issues...)

His feeding habits and food never changed...So we have put him on a diet food. I am just wondering how much food should i cut back and aboout how long will it take him to loose 15-20 lbs. Right now he is on Eagle pack for Adult dogs. He was getting 4 cups a day. I want to cut it back to 2 cups... But how slowly should i do that...

We walk/run him over 1 hour a night and 1/2 in the morning- so he is getting lots of exercise. Plus he has a baby sister (1 year old husky) to play with..

    Thanks everyone

  • Dog has been throwing up yellow stuff for about a week...?

I went on holidays from Friday to Sunday. My husband told me when i got home that my dog (husky -3 1/2 years old) was throwing up the whole time i was away. I thought at first it was just because of his seperation anxiety, but he's been throwing up every morning since then. I made a vet appointment for today, but i'm just wondering if there is anything i could do before i take him to the vet (since they are so crazy expensive..)

What will the vet to do check him? i'm guessing blood tests..??

    Thanks

  • dog gets really scared on walks (sometimes...)?

I have a male husky that is just over 3 years old. Recently he becomes REALLY nervous on walks. He will either completely freeze (putting his tail between his legs and sitting down) or he'll try and take off and run.

At first i thought it was because of a certain area we walk, so i walked him different places and it still happens. He starts to smell the air and then it happens...

Anyone know what could be causing this??

    Thanks
