How do pro-choice Christians sleep at night knowing what the bible says about unborn human life?

"Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:4-5).

"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well." (Psalm 139:13-14)

"Lord, what is man that you care for him, mortal man that you keep him in mind? . . . With glory and honor you crowned him, giving him power over the works of your hands" (Psalm 8:5-7).

"They mingled with the nations and learned their works…They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed" (Psalm 106:35, 37-38).

The last verse doesn't apply as it's not speaking to unborn children but to those who would do so with live children who were born.

The common thing I see is that they logically believe that the mind hasn't learned anything of God nor of this world yet, therefore they are not technically alive. The second they are born or of a substantial age in the womb they are not really thinking and learning, just sitting. They haven't learned how on their own how to breathe or eat or cry or anything. A tree is living, but it's not doing anything if it's a seed that isn't being grown. It doesn't have a directive yet nor does it have instincts or ambitions. Some would argue those come from God as biologically in regards to Cells, they don't explain how we have minds or instincts of survival.

That being said, they commonly would feel that once a baby is born, begins to learn and see and experience life, it then is really alive. In fact in many other countries besides America this is common thought among christians. Really though the bible doesn't say specifically, and these verses you quoted yes, display a character of God that loving cares for every born child, and one that he had a plan for, but if a mom kills her child before it's born, then God in his foreknowledge didn't really have a plan for that kid now did he? It's not as though God is going to be like, "aww dang, you screwed up my plan now cindy. How could you?"

And because God didn't say, though shalt not destroy a baby in the womb, then it's not a sin specifically. How I rationalize it though is that it is murder, it is alive, and just because we can't scientifically prove that the baby isn't thinking, doesn't mean it's not. It could be learning all kinds of things in the womb and for that reason I'm pro-life.

Considering the fact that we're sinful and more often than not now not ashamed of it. Like so many different 'conveniences' that the state-of-the-art age has ushered in, abortion is an convenient approach to get out a rough hindrance. It can be like stealing for a drug repair or lying rather of coping with the penalties. However to be 'professional-choice' is a political function, not a theological position. And there may be no longer a sin in taking a position, simplest in taking motion. However, it might be a sin of 'omission' considering you didn't do some thing to discontinue the abortions. It is dependent upon who you ask. However yeah killing the fetus is not any excellent.

Because people like YOU exist and we can just shrug you off and laugh at your idiocy and sleep like babies. Women have the right to choose whether they want a baby or not. You and your fellow pro-life people also show the hypocrisy of your own cause. You go around killing abortion doctors and blowing up abortion clinics. How is anything EVER pro-life if it requires you to KILL people? And that's why we get so turned off by you and your religion; you use it to justify killing and controlling people in the name of God. As the bible also said, let GOD handle all earthly matters. If abortion is truly evil, then let GOD handle it when we die. But I'll tell you right now, women who have abortions don't do it like you see TV villains do, cackling and twirling their hands together. They feel the same pain we do. And I'll ask you this. What if YOU were married, and your wife got raped and ended up pregnant. Would YOU want her to give birth to that baby that was not your own, that had been conceived in such a horrible way? Either you problably don't believe you can get pregnant from rape, in which case you're like most of the current Republicans, ignorant, or you would insist she raise it, in which case she'd probably leave you. Your religion is ruling you, and you are using it to justify horrible atrocities. And THAT is why I have no problem with abortion whatsoever.

The same way every other Christian on the face of the Earth can manage to cope with themselves: They pick and choose what to believe out of the Bible when it makes them feel good or seems right.

The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."

    Psalm 137:9

Happy is the one who takes your babies and smashes them against the rocks!

God doesn't mind killing babies :)

In the beginning, there were two regions: Muspellsheimr in the south, full of fire, light and heat; and Niflheimr in the north, full of arctic waters, mists, and cold.[3] Between them stretched the yawning emptiness of Ginnungagap, and into it poured sparks and smoke from the south and layers of rime-ice and glacial rivers from the north. As heat and cold met in Ginnungagap, a living Jǫtunn, Ymir, appeared in the melting ice. From his left armpit, the first man and woman were born. From his legs, the frost jötnar were born. Ymir fed on the milk of the cow Auðhumla. She licked the blocks of salty ice, releasing Buri.

Buri's son Bor had three sons, the gods Óðinn, Vili and Vé. The three slew Ymir, and all of the frost giants but Bergelmir were drowned in the blood. From Ymir's body, they made the world of humans: his blood the seas and lakes, his flesh the earth, his bones the mountains and his teeth the rocks. From his skull they made the dome of the sky, setting a dwarf at each of the four corners to hold it high above the earth. They protected it from the jötnar with a wall made from Ymir's eyebrows. Next they caused time to exist, sending Night and Day to drive around the heavens in horse drawn chariots. They also set a girl Sun and a boy Moon on paths across the sky. These two must drive fast to outrun the wolves who pursued them.

Funny how the Bible never mentions abortion if it's that important. Jesus never mentioned it either. You have to do some digging to find some verses that might suggest so.

Well, like many Christians, they probably ignore parts of the Bible they don't like.

If they're atheists, they probably ignore the Bible. Period.

And if they believe all these verses and take them to heart, well, best way to protect a newborn from the awful world God is NOT protecting is to keep them from ever having to grow up here. Send that baby straight to Heaven.

Y'all just can't win can ya'?

The same way other christians sleep at night when poverty is still so strong, yet they do nothing about it. Nothing.

I sleep very well, thank you. I simply ignore 'cherry pickers'. That is people who take phrases from different books and string them together to 'get the Bible to support them'.
