I was just curious if anyone had any personal opinion on how deep you dig into a claim someone makes.

For example: A newletter claimed that diet soda causes cancer. I dug into the new article and found the doctor who ran the study. Then I proceeded to review the actual case study and his opinion on the outcome. It ended up that he did not hold the opinion that diet sodas caused cancer, and that that was not what his study was proving. He said it was possible, but the evidence wasn't there as a result of what he found.

So then the newsletter lied just to get a sensational response from people...essentially fearmongering. So if I had not done this digging, then I would have believed based on that newsletter that diet sodas cause cancer. While they might, my point is, that study did not claim that, so how deep do you often dig?

I want to hear your opinions. Not on the study, but on a topic of your choice, how deep you've dug or if you just focus on the surface and let people lead you where they wish.

I am looking for a muse for a character and can't think of any movie where there is a negative, dark, bi-otchy influence upon the story. Someone who is maybe a bit awkward or gross would work too. Just basically someone who doesn't fit the social norms of our society.

Meaning that as an Atheist, you don't believe in the existence of any God, so why are you debating and arguing with various people of various religions as to whether or not God is real. The section isn't Religion, Atheists, and Spirituality right? Not to say you aren't welcome, and not to say you aren't free to post what you will. Just logically, from the perspective of being an Atheist myself in the past, why do you care what we write here? Do you want to prove religious people are incorrect? If so is this the forum for that debate?

I constantly see people copy and paste their answers on R&S. I have no issues with it but this. When someone is asking a question that is seeking information it's okay to post a copied response because that's all they want, is the info.

But my issue is when someone is pouring out their heart, and all you have to give is a copy paste? I see www.jw.org and a copied response on almost every question regardless of the topic or sincerity requested. Sorry to pick on your guys but you're the worst at it, and before you go off, i'm not saying all of you do this.

So why then can't we have a little decency toward our neighbors and just love them a little? Sure post what you want, even copied answers, but at least make it speak to the poster by editing it. Show some compassion right? Am I alone in thinking this?

What are some options other than metro?

I have a record player plugged into my receiver that is connected to my speaker system. However I want to hook not only my TV into the system to utilize the speakers, but also my xbox 360, ps2, vhs, and blueray disk player. Is there a way/system/device that can easily do this so I can switch between devices and utilize the audio through the speakers, but also the video through the tv?

Is God in your opinion three separate Gods or one or something else?

What is the holy spirit?

Who was Jesus? Was he the messiah? Was he God?

What is your opinion on the empowerment of the Holy Spirit? What is it?

I am on skype on my macbook and randomly the video will shut off. If I go to my Photo booth it's not working either. If I restart my computer, everything is working fine. There is one place where my video usually always fails, and that's when I log onto my gmail when on skype. Any ideas why it's doing this?

I am thinking maybe somewhere in India or South Asia?
