Jw's: What do you believe in contrary to protestantism?

I'm being serious here and it's not an attack, I'd like to know. What are your stances on these things:

What is the trinity of God?

Is God in your opinion three separate Gods or one or something else?

What is the holy spirit?

Who was Jesus? Was he the messiah? Was he God?

What is your opinion on the empowerment of the Holy Spirit? What is it?

The trinity is a false doctrine that the apostate Christian "Fathers" of the 2nd and 3rd Century brought into their faith.

The holy spirit is Jehovah God's power that he uses to complete any task, from creating the earth, to strength his followers.

Jesus Christ is called the firstborn of creation. He is Jehovah God's first creation, and he served as the Messiah or Christ. His appointment came from God, and he gave his life for mankind. When God resurrected him, he returned to his previous life form when he lived in heaven. He is not God.

I don't understand what you mean by "empowerment of the Holy Spirit" but I do know that what occurred as recorded in the Bible when the holy spirit was operative. In the Hebrew scriptures, the famous Samson was made super strong by that spirit. Then at Pentecost, with the outpouring of the spirit, the followers of Jesus Christ had special gifts that advanced the preaching of the Good News. It also guided the brothers through serious issues, like recorded at Acts chapter 15.

Jehovah and Jesus are not the same in power. For one thing, Jesus does not know what Jehovah knows (Matthew 24:36). Another thing, Jesus is subordinate to Jehovah (Hebrews 5:8). Jehovah is also considered Jesus' God (Revelation 3:12). Jesus was produced by Jehovah (Proverbs 8:22; Colossians 1:15). Jehovah and Jesus are two separate being (Psalms 110:1; Matthew 22:43-45; 1 Corinthians 2:16).

The holy spirit is Jehovah's active force. He used it to create everything (Genesis 1:2). It is also used to help us remember the scriptures (John 14:26).

Jesus was the messiah (John 1:41; 4:25,26). But he is now the priest and king of spiritual Israel (Hebrews 4:14; Daniel 4:17). Jesus is also the only begotten Son of Jehovah (John 3:16). For he was the only one directly created by Jehovah (Proverbs 8:22; Colossians 1:15). All other things were created through Jesus (Colossians 1:16).

Holy spirit gives us a lot of things. But especially fruitage of the spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). There are also gifts of the spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

The trinity is a false teaching borrowed from Babylon.

Jehovah God is not three but as scritpure says, the ONE True God.

Holy Spirit is God's active force.

Jesus is God's son, the promised Messiah not God Almighty.

God's spirit gives power or strength to his people to do his will.

ps. I couldn't possibly care less how others catagorize my faith, only whether we are classified as being worthy of praising our God JEHOVAH in the service of the KING. All the rest is just a case of "them that do do, them that don't ... argue semantics"

Not a JW but I can answer for them

The trinity is a pagan doctrine brought in by the church in the 3rd century.... false but that is what they'll say.

to the Jw there is one God "Jehovah" a mistranslation by some scholars but this is what they believe.

They say that the Holy Spirit is NOT a personal being but only the power of God... unfortunately the Holy Spirit is cal "He" and is referred to as "God" in Acts chapter 5.

and to them Jesus is "ONLY" Michael the archangel incarnate... too bad the "ONLY" 5 biblical text that mention Michael make NO reference to Jesus at all.

And finally to the JW the Holy Spirit only guides the 144,000 and maybe the governing body.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...

JW's are a Post-Reformation sect.. they carry the reduced 66 book canon (although a unique translation) Their roots can only be traced back to late 19th century America and their founder Charles Taze Russell.
