I am sending a package to Denmark and I need some help?
So a friend of mine sent me a package for Christmas, and she left her address so I can send her one back, she lives in Denmark and the address she left she wrote "Denmark", in the Danish language I'm sure they say it "Danmark", so should I put Denmark or Danmark on it?
I am sending it from the UK

In general though, always write addresses in the language of the country you are sending from. It is the post office in your country who needs to know where they should send the package off to, first and foremost. Once it gets to the destination country the country name doesn't matter anymore and the rest of the address is usually no problem.

First, it helps to know where you are sending it FROM.
Second, as with most countries, they can figure out, once it has arrived in their central dispatching office, that it is to go to that country...so it doesn't matter if you write it in THEIR language...it's already arrived. The important thing is for you to put it in a language that the post men at HOME can understand (especially if you are in the US, where the post men are pretty ignorant, by and large).
You can always write it in BOTH languages.

Write it as she did, thoughIi am sure both work just fine. The post office recommended sending packages to europe by Dec. 9.
