You have to make sure you remove the head as well. If it is left imbedded in the dog's skin, it can cause an infection. Go over every inch of your dog to make sure you didn't miss a single tick. You can use a hairdryer (on cool) to help part her fur down to the skin so you can see ticks easily. Remove them and put them in a cup of bleach.

Spray your yard for ticks as well. They go on the dog for food, but will also live in your yard.

If she is infested with ticks, you may want to bring her to the groomer or vet for a professional bath and have them remove the ticks.

Don't leave the tick on your dog. The longer it's on him the longer it has to inject disease.

A had a house burn down behind us and have been fighting ticks for a year. We've tried every collar, every shampoo, every topical - all without success. Until CERTIFECT!

The best tick typical on the market now is Certifect. It attacks their neurological system and paralyzes it's mouth so out can't eat. They starve to death. I haven't seen it in the stores yet, so you'll have to get it from your Vet or online. It costs a little more but if it works . . .

Just do what you're planning to. In 3 months have the vet run bloodwoek to check for diseases the ticks may have given her. If wont show up for 3 months so you have to wait to get testes.

You can use glue to suffocate them. About one drop of Elmer's glue will do the trick. Also this is safe.

flea collar and flea treatment baths, I would recommend you to take your pet to the groomers more often as they can give better treatment for your dog.
