First of all LOVE, then come the rest. Rest would include, Children, companionship, taking care of each other in case of sickness, pain and sorrow. Enjoy life together at home and outside.

Feeling safe is number one in my marriage. To get there, we have had to establish boundaries, based on respect, followed by trust, resulting in true love. She is my best friend, big time! I like having my wife as my best friend. We are very compatible. I am an avid outdoorsman, and she likes to hunt and fish with me. We attend Christian worship services together, see things politically the same way, and she is an awesome lover sexually, great housekeeper, and great advocate, and confidant. She is a career woman, and a good partner in building financial security. I am very blessed with a wonderful, healthy, egalitarian marriage.

Though widowed earlier than later? I HAD what I wanted from my marriage:

-A man who loved and respected me and I him.

-A relationship where compromise and forgiveness really DID work and instilled GREAT harmony.

-BOTH of us were fiscally responsible to the marriage, our family life and in looking ahead to retirement.

    That's it because?

    That says it all...

    Grace

PS -though I really would have liked it if he had picked up his undies instead of dropping them on the floor of our bedroom...just to see if I would pick them up (running battle he got a kick out of and did indeed, annoy the hel* out of me)

Nothing but a significant other who sees me for me and wants nothing but that forever.

Companionship and as close to unconditional love as I can get. I pretty much have it.
