I'm getting a sharp pain in my chest, is it due to my birth control?
I'm taking microgestin fe 1/20 and just today, I am starting to get a sharp pain in my chest area, I think my heart (every time it pumps blood). Could this be due to a blood clot or something?

Any unusual persistent pain should be checked out by your doctor or go to a hospital.

You realize what, your gynecologist was once the man or woman to believe on this predicament. She is aware of your scientific historical past and individual expertise past what you're pointing out right here and she or he is the ONLY man or woman who can truthfully inform you that this can be a quandary. If you will have chest affliction, that may be really severe and I do not recognize why you could even wait to get this taken care of out. Chest affliction will have to constantly be evaluated you probably have been on a beginning manage tablet. At the very least, you wish to have an EKG instantly. It is NOT a waste of cash if it saves you from having a center quandary or stops whatever that can be deadly at some point. Talk on your mother and father now and move see an internist ASAP. You can't manage to pay for to allow this move. Good good fortune.

Its unlikely to be the meds because i'm not sure that's a listed side effect (check the leaflet inside the box). I'm guessing you're quite young so its very unlikely to be a blood clot as is more likely to be costochondritis. This is a common diagnosis as is loosely given to any issues concerning the costal cartilage of the ribs. The pain is probably caused by inflammation/dysfunction around the costal and sternal joints, nothing to be worried about really. If you are concerned then i would go see a doctor who i'm sure can give you some reassurance.
