Brake Pads for 2002 WRX?

Quick question about brake pads. So I need to replace my brake pads and I'm looking at o'rely auto parts and they have these organic pads for $22. But the front desk guy says they aren't good and should spend a little bit more on the $36 ones which are ceramic. What is the difference between the two and which should I spend my money on? I'm going cheap cuz I'm a broke college student who can't even get his family Christmas presents =(

Organic don't last as long as Ceramic and the Organic will give you lots of brake dust on your wheels. Ceramic are better.

C/T is right but exaggerating a little. All pads make dust but ceramics just make less. Even the cheapest pads will be better than driving with worn out pads. Go for the cheap ones and don't look back.

Additionally "Darrell" is totally wrong and I believe misleading people by saying he is a "certified mechanic". There is no way to know what is and is not a racing pad just by a vague description of the compound. Also I'm not sure O'reilly even sell racing pads, and if they did they certainly wouldn't be the cheapest ones they had. 22 or even 36 dollars for racing pads? Give me a break.

Ceramic or semi metallic. Organic aren't very good in my opinion. I really can't think of any legitimate reasons to buy them unless the funds aren't there for anything else and you really need to replace your pads. Semi metallic are better for wear but this is a performance car. Ceramics dissipate heat better during braking; Meaning your brakes should perform much better in any driving condition and the wear isn't that much less than semi metallic.

Organic and ceramic are racing pads that are for short term use only as they ware out quickly. if i were you, just go with the semi-matalic pads. last longer.

That grinding noise yo hear might desire to ok be the bearing this is badly worn. My chum had a mattress rear bearing and it appears like a jet plane is following us everywhere we circulate. It replace into complicated on the commencing up because of the fact there replace into no drag on the wheel whilst the vehicle replace into up on stands and no part to part circulate like people say is an indication of a undesirable bearing yet particular adequate, that replace into the subject.
