My dog has ticks (CONTINUED)?
I pulled off about 4 ticks and i washed them down the sink. i put neosporin in the spots that i pulled them from, then i applied her Frontline Plus as normal. Is there anything else i can do? shes a 32 pound Queensland Heeler mix if that helps. I have 2 other dogs and Im going to treat them with the Frontline stuff as well.

frontline plus is great but If you do find a tick on your dog opt for immediate removal. Simply grab the tick body as close to the dog's skin as possible and gently pull straight out. Using Vaseline®, alcohol or burning the tick is pointless. If you should leave the tick head in the skin along with those nasty barbed-teeth, fear not. The dog's immune system will fight back and form a small bump of granulation tissue around the tick mouth parts to protect it from infecting the rest of the dog. If you suspect your dog has Lyme, even if you didn't see a tick, insist upon proper testing by your veterinarian. It could save your dog's life. maybe cut ur dogs hair short in the spots u found the tick that way u can keep a eye on the bit

I would also take the dogs bedding out side and shake it out. Then I'd make it a habit to vaccum their bedding often. But make sure all of your dogs have that anti tick stuff on them and do a random tick "search" every few days. If they are long haired dogs you should brush and bath them often to help reduce to chance of them getting any on them.

Vets sell collars called Preventic and they work well. If you live in an area that has Lyme disease watch out for that. I use both Advantage and Preventic collars. I hate ticks! If you end up touching them while removing, wash your hands immediately.
