Help me decide, imac or mac mini?
This may have been asked numerous times. I'm currently using a 2005 HP PC, with 17" monitor, keys and mouse. It's really old and slow. So it's time for new computer. I'm interested on 21.5" iMac (basic spec). It's kinda expensive for me at $1300. Then the salesperson recommend the Mac Mini. Major advantage is I can use my old monitor, keys and mouse. And the price is cheaper at $700ish. I'm also planning to move to another city nxt year, I presume it's easier to carry along the Mac Mini?
The 21.5" iMac, is much more aesthetically pleasing, less clutter than separate monitor and CPU. And obviously the interface (monitor, keys, mouse) is modern and much better.
I'm an amateur musician, so I will mainly use it for recording (garageband), listening to music, and some browsing.
So, which one would you pick if you're in my situation?

Mac mini is the best option for you. Although iMac has better configuration, mac mini has decent configuration. It is easy to carry. You are an ameture musician so you can move mac mini to anywhere. So for just recording, listening music or browsing mac mini is more than enough.

I support you choose imac. The Imac is a multifunction screen good, one pace reachs the designated position, need not spend idea; MAC mini common version and server edition two choices, only host, display and peripherals to choose their own, hardware upgrades to convenient point, and host small volume, easy to carry, as long as there is the monitor in place can use (interface to support). In addition you identify the apple system, buy to return a Windows system, feel a little the loss outweights the gain.
I hope I can help u !
