Basic Training packing list Fort Leonard Wood!?

I got a list from my RSP company and there's quite a few things on there. I just want to take the bare minimum, so all of it will fit in a backpack and not some big over the shoulder gym bag. Anyone that recently been there for Combat Engineer OSUT please help out.

I leave in 2 weeks!

You won;t need much. Two changes of clothes,(casual, nothing fancy) a jacket appropriate for this time of year.((FLW is COLD) your personal stuff, ( toothpase, razor).some writing paper, envelopes, stamps, Maybe $ 50.00 in cash.

All you really need willbe issued inthe first 2-3 days you are there.

When you get there you will quickly learn why it will forever be Fort Lost in the Woods, to those of us who have been there. Good luck.

I agree with Ted, you do not need a lot and the things that you might need you can buy from reception's PX. If you are picky on the type of soap, razors, etc then purchases them before hand, I did and it helped during reception and during BCT. I do not know first hand about OSUT, but we got to use the phones twice and go to the PX twice but we were a small company like 150 total so we were done with training earlier than usual so we had extra time a lot. The reception PX is crazy 50 kids at a time buying things they might need, waterproof paper is nice, and plastic bags. I cannot stress ziploc storage bags enough. You can put all of you clothing in those and keep them dry and free of bugs while you are in the field. Nothing is nicer than a dry pair of socks when you have been sloshing around all day in the wet FLW woods. Unless you really want it, stay away from the yearbook, videos, and graduation rings. They are a waste of money and you do not have to spend it if you do not want to.
