Mommies that have/had Mirena?
Ok mommies serious question.... I've had Mirena for almost 4 months now. I check the strings every few weeks. I use to have to search deep to find em (tmi) now they are like right there.... I've been spotting for 2 weeks. Longest time ever. Should I go get it checked? Also I think its giving me a rash. But why would it do it now?

Your cervix moves up and down through your cycle, so it's normal not to always have to reach in as high to find the strings. But the spotting and the rash (which is probably unrelated) are enough reason to get checked out.

check it out for safe measure, but it might be because your spotting. Spotting and bleeding often move the strings around and make them come down a bit more but it wouldnt hurt to get it checked out. My strings are also pretty far back and I honestly never check them since they are nearly impossible to find. The GYN told me, herself, that I would have major difficulty checking on them so not to panic if I cant find them often. I really dont even let it bother me. I was really nervous at first but not anymore. I've had them professionally checked 3 times in 6 months, but not out of fear or panic. Just something else came up and they were checked for routine purposes.

Sure, go get it checked. Maybe it became dislodged or something. It can't hurt to know for sure.
