Is Adobe AfterEffects 11 any better than i-movie for the mac?

I'm sure Sony Vegas Pro trumps all video editing software but I don't have a PC. I'm currently using i-movie for the MAC but was wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to Adobe aftereffects?

Is Adobe aftereffects any superior to i-movie? If so, by how much? What are the distinct advantages if any and disadvantages of this software? I'm just looking for something with a bit more horsepower so to speak when editing movies. thanks

    MUCH better. With After Effects, you can do stuff like this:

    Of course. iMovie is is a video editor for amateurs. Adobe after effects is for professional. It's a world of a difference.
