I currently shoot youtube videos with a Kodak Zi8 pocket camera, which is decent but I'm thinking about upgrading to something better. Any suggestions people? I need something that's not too bulky, good quality, able to be mounted to a tri-pod and most importantly needs to be compatible with Macs since I do all my video editing on my Mac.

Price is not an issue as long a the requirements above are met. Thanks in advance!

I noticed someone else has one of my Youtube videos on their channel without my permission. I do place ads/monetize my videos so I do get paid a small amount for my work. My question is....

If someone else were to click on my original video on a different person's channel, does this mean they may actually be getting paid through adsense from my work? Or will the revenue/adsense still go to me? If the former, I am going to file a complaint possibly and have that person remove my video from their channel. Any insight would be great. Thanks.

I am getting married in exactly one month and plan on giving a quick thank you speech to everyone. My DJ said it doesn't need to be elaborate and i'm fine with that b/c 3 other people (two bridesmaids and my best man) will be giving speeches later that night and I can't stand being at a wedding where people talk forever but I digress.

Anyways, I did a little bit of research and here is what I have. Let me know your thoughts and if i'm missing something.

1) I will thank everyone for coming (friends & family) on behalf of both me and my "soon to be"

2) I will thank my "in laws" (not sure how i'm going to word this yet)

3) i will thank everyone who contributed to the wedding planning process

4) I will then tie that into thanking my wife for planning and tell her how beautiful and stunning she looks.

My DJ said the main thing is to tell her how beautiful she looks. I will also tell her I love her.

Is there anything else i'm missing? Her father is not giving a speech, FYI if that matters.

Should I do a toast? How do I end it smoothly?

Any tips are great! I want to keep this short and sweet people to remember that!

I am on the new youtube interface on my homepage which blows. Anyways, I was fiddling around to see what things I could do and channel art was one of them. I chose a picture and I don't like it. I simply want to remove the channel art but there is nowhere I can see to delete the channel art I chose. I can chose another picture but I don't want that. Any help would be great. Thanks

Bear with me folks. I'll try and make this short and to the point as possible.

Some dude online offers me 10 dollars to help with some advertising for his website (won't go into specifics). I am reluctant but he sends the money as a "PayPal Gift", which can't be refunded according to him, which I think is true but anyways..

The only info I give him is my email address that is linked to my paypal account. That is the only way I would get paid. He does it asap and the money is in my checking account. I wait a few days for the money to go from pending to complete and voila, I have 10 bucks. All good so far.

This is where i'm scratching my head. The following morning, I notice 20 dollars being taken from my paypal account and being charged on my credit card. I dispute the transaction asap and Paypal refunds me the 20 bucks. 30 min later, another 20 dollar transaction appears on my paypal account/credit card. I dispute it, call my bank, close my credit card and get a re-issue.

The 10 bucks that the guy gave me never disappeared in my checking account. I told my bank the situation and he/she says that the credit card fraud may have just been a mere coincidence b/c there was no fraud on my checking account. I re-emailed the guy to tell him that I received the 10 bucks but didn't tell him squat about my suspicions just to see if he would respond and he did.

Can someone for the life of me give their opinion as to what happened. How likely is a scam artist able to obtain my credit card info through paypal with just my email? And if he had access to my checking account, wouldn't he have wiped out my checking account? I would think so b/c that money is liquid and for the taking yet it wasn't touched.

Sorry so long. Any input would be great. And FYI, remember, I did not give him a password or any other information whatsoever. He doesn't even know my first name. Just an email address for paypal. Thank you.

I'm sure Sony Vegas Pro trumps all video editing software but I don't have a PC. I'm currently using i-movie for the MAC but was wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to Adobe aftereffects?

Is Adobe aftereffects any superior to i-movie? If so, by how much? What are the distinct advantages if any and disadvantages of this software? I'm just looking for something with a bit more horsepower so to speak when editing movies. thanks

Quick question. Just want to make sure. Lets say in OT the Patriots score a field goal on their first possession. The Steelers then have a chance to score at least a field goal to keep the game going or to win on a TD. I got that.

If the Steelers were to get a field goal just like the Pats and the Pats get the ball back, does this now mean that the first team to score would win? I assume it is b/c this is not college football rules. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks

I noticed when I go to my youtube channel, I wanted to change my featured video on my channel. When I try to change it, I only have a handful of videos to choose from. I have 175 videos in total yet not all of them are available to choose as my featured video.

Does anyone else have this problem? I assume this yet another youtube glitch (sigh)? Are there any workarounds to this? Any input would be great. Thanks.

It seems like youtube is always screwing up. I'm sure it's a glitch but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one.

Under my video manager, the monetize button is gone. Under settings, it shows that the videos are still monetized. This is all under firefox browser.

However, under safari, everything appears.

Has anyone experienced this? Just wondering. Thanks.

I know everyone and their mama can sign up for monetization. I'm well aware of that since I am part of that program.

However, i've heard that unless you're part of the "old crop" of partners, that banners and other perks will not be given for true partnership once applied. I have not applied but in the near future, I will.

Does this mean partners (not monetization program) still get other perks such as higher resolution videos and priority when people search? Or does that no longer apply and it's just 1 level of partnership? Any input would be great. Thanks.

I am currently monetizing most of my videos on youtube and making some money, albeit a small amount thus far.

However, when I click on "video manager" and "settings", there used to be another link to direct me to my adsense account where I could view exactly how much I made per day/month/year and total earnings.

Currently, that link does not exist. It simply shows an account overview with my user name, email etc. I know youtube is about 4 days behind on processing data. Could this be the reason? Anyone else having this problem? Thanks

I've posted over 100 videos on my channel so this is not a formatting issue or mistake on my part. When I try and click upload, youtube is unresponsive. Nothing happens, literally.

Youtube has been acting really weird. Also when I go to my video manager and want to view my older videos by clicking on page 1, it won't allow me to. It only allows me to view page 2, which are my more recent videos. It's a pain.

Anyone else have this problem? I tried uploading with Safari and Firefox but to no avail. I saw some people on the net state they were having the same problems so I hope they fix it. any suggestions would be great. thanks

I'm having problems with thumbnails when loading imovie 09 so I decided to simply copy all my youtube videos onto an external drive.

When I went under "downloads" and "all movies", there was a bunch of cache and old video files. I deleted a bunch of them a few weeks but they keep reappearing!!! Why does this happen and is there a way to get rid of them all together? It's eating up my hard drive! Thank you.

FYI, I no longer import/export to my hard drive b/c of this. I use my external at all times but this problem is still present. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know this topic may have been brought up before but I was curious if anyone has experienced quite a discrepancy as myself.

Under "account settings" on my profile it states I have 30K plus for video views. I knew that # seemed a bit high so I counted all my views from all my videos and I got a shade under 11K. That's almost a 20K difference?? I've heard about a few thousand being off but 20K? Can anyone explain this?

Youtube once again has decided to change the channel layout to Cosmic Panda. They did this a few months ago for a few days before going back to normal. Is this a trial period or a permanent change?

When I logged on, a message appeared with a link that stated I could opt out by clicking on this link.

Unfortunately, this link doesn't work and I hate this layout. I use mozilla but with safari, the old layout is present but I don't think this is a permanent solution. In addition, I heard if you change the language from US to US (UK), it can work. Is this true? If so, can someone please tell me the steps to do this on the new cosmic panda layout page?

I recently edited a few of my videos (shortened the start and stop time by a few sec). The videos have been edited and are done processing. When I open up another window to search for these specific videos, the thumbnails are there. But under my own profile "my videos", there are no thumbnails.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, how can this be solved? It's kind of annoying to say the least. Thank you so much.

I recently had white kashmir grantite countertops installed in my kitchen. When I first saw the granite slab at my house for the first time, it looked just like what I picked at the store. However, after the job was complete, there are huge almost black circles/splotches everywhere on the granite.

Is it more likely that my contractor did a horrible job with the sealant or that I got a bad piece of granite? I have to go with the former b/c I swear it looked fine initially!! Please give me your thoughts and experiences. I really need a real opinion.

I've been doing some research and see that the online text as well as the exam (taken first time) is all free. There is a pro package as well for 65$ (more support they say, flashcards given, practice exams) but I'd rather study the text myself and see if I can pass the first time.

For the ones who have taken it, how was the exam? Was it pretty hard? Did you have to study the textbook from start to finish? Did anyone get the pro package and if so, did that help? Also, do gyms even take this online certificate seriously? Thanks, any input would be great.
